derealisation

depersonalisation
On the level of aural, visual and spatial perception, the topic of the experience of alienation is treated as depersonalization (alienation from oneself) and derealization (alienation from the environment) in the form of an installation.
The aim is to transform this elusive shift in perception into a tangible form. The different levels each have their own way of dealing with the topic, but at the same time they are placed in an overall context and linked to each other. On the auditory level, a basic mood is conveyed that reflects a personal musical interpretation of these states.
The sounds are alienated, torn apart and distributed over 8 loudspeakers, which are set up in two squares to form an inner and an outer circle, between which the sound moves back and forth.
On the visual level, two symbols for depersonalization and derealization are depicted, which are projected against each other and filtered through different layers of fabric.

If the viewer stands in the middle, he can hear the sound in its entirety, but not the image. If he is standing outside, he can perceive the image in its entirety, but not the sound. This results in a shifted perception of the overall situation from every point of view.
